Substance Abuse Program

We provide Level One Outpatient Treatment, chemical dependency assessments, outreach services, prevention and education, referrals, cultural and traditional activities. Our Substance Abuse Program is a twelve-week level one-outpatient treatment program. The services our program provides are individual sessions once a week or more depending on need, educational group once a week and group therapy once a week.Our program also provides education and prevention activities for the community.

After completion of outpatient treatment, the client enters our aftercare program, which can be modified to the clients needs. Along with alcoholics anonymous program, we also offer Native American culture and traditional activities to our clients.

Alcoholism is a disease that affects the individual, the family and the community. Alcoholism, if not treated or arrested, can be fatal. Furthermore, the American Medical Association classified alcoholism as a disease. The reason it is classified as a disease lies in the fact that it is a primary, chronic disease with genetic, psychological and environmental factors influencing its development and manifestations. It is not a side affect or outcropping of another medical or psychological problem and the disease is often progressive and fatal.

Family members of alcohol and drug users need help just as much as the chemically addicted person to overcome the devastating effects that engulfs the whole family. Family members often suffer mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual abuse from the chemically dependent person. Usually the family member doesn't realize they are sick from the relationship with the chemical dependent. The family member can have ulcers, other stomach problems, sleep disorders, depression, high blood pressure, migraine headaches, and many other stress related problems.
